【Words from Yukio Akamine】
Since Autumn/Winter 2007, I have been pursuing the straightforward real men’s dandyism through clothe making for my own brand, “Akamine Royal Line”. Its theme is “for men who want to seek real classics”.
While I work on both scenes which include where the products are made on one hand and where the direct communication with the customers are made on the other, I send my passionate messages to the “real men” in Japan.
【Who is Yukio Akamine?】
Born in August 1944 in Meguro, Tokyo.
Under the influence of the movies of a bygone era, he has been seeking the classic style of the world consistently and verifying in the United Kingdom, France, Italy, the United States and other countries.
Founded Trad Co., Ltd. In 1974 (Way-Out brand)、Glenover Co., Ltd. In 1982 (Glenover brand) and Incontro Co., Ltd. in 1990 (Y. Akamine brand, Akamine Royal Line brand), which he is currently directing energetically as a representative.
On the other hand, he has been presiding over the coaching school (‘Akamine Juku’) of Human Resource Development for the apparel industry, and he is giving various advice utilizing his knowledge there.
From December 2010, he has been sending message to Japanese men through the site “Japanese Gentleman’s Lounge” on the theme of Dining, Homes, Travelling, Learning and Amusement & Recreation as well as Attire.
Also he has been featured on the famous blog so far overseas frequently, e.g. “Sartorialist (http://www.thesartorialist.com/) ” by the photographer Scott Schuman and “Mr. Porter (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9z-q2r1I6rI&feature=youtu.be)” by the fashion journalist Mansel Fletcher.
